Hello everyone! I just built a gaming system powered by gtx 670 from gigabyte and bought my self a nice benq xl2420t. My question is i would like to use my old monitor along with the new one. My only purposed of the old one is to view my monitoring app like the temp, etc. while i game on my new monitor. Is this possible? Im sure its doable but i dont know what i need to make it work.
 
Nothing special here, plug in the second monitor and it'll work just fine.
 
Additional tips:

In your display settings, be sure to set the second monitor to extend the desktop, not duplicate the first display.

If your new monitor is detected as Monitor 2, click its icon at the top of the Display control panel, then use the drop-down list below it to set it as the primary. Full-screen apps like games will always launch on the primary.

App windows will appear on the first monitor by default. If you drag them to the second monitor, then close them, they will default to the second monitor the next time you open them (so you don't have to drag them over each time you boot up and launch them).

If the mouse pointer wants to "slide off" the wrong side of the first display compared to where the second display physically is, look at the icons of the two monitors in the display control panel, grab one with your mouse and drag it to the opposite side of the other.

Apologies if you already know all that, but those are the irritating details that can plague new owners of dual monitors.
