Alright so here's the scoop, I'm looking to add two monitors to what I have currently that will be dedicated to my work machine, so they won't be handling gaming, movies, etc. basically just Visio work, command line, web browsing, email, etc.I'm trying to keep the cost down whilst still getting a decent display. I am looking mainly at ~22" LCD's which do 1920x1080,

I'd love a couple of dell ultrasharps (IPS) but I'm not sure if I can justify the price difference, and in my situation I think I may appreciate the extra resolution.

Dell has a decent deal on the S2209W's making them $150/each. Wondering if anyone has any experience w/ these screens or other recommendations, I see Acer and Asus both have a couple 22" displays w/ the same resolution but I'm not sure how they stack up against these dells.

You may pay more for Dell, but then again if you get a couple of Ultrasharps you get their premium monitor warranty which is rather excellent. Any dead pixels or defects and you can RMA/return them pretty easily.

Dang out of stock :( I may check my local store see if they are the same price there. Even without the coupon they seem like a pretty good buy.

The samsung P2250 actually seemed very good for a TN when I had a quick look at one in a store. Only problem with it is the stand is just a basic one.

Personallly im using 2x NEC EA231WMI and i'm very happy with them, but I think they're out of your price range.

There is a link to check all of the nearby stores on the product page, although I think you need to check during store hours to get accurate information with it. You can also buy instore printable coupons from e-junkie, but they'll cost a little more (might be limited 1 per customer, etc.).

I''ll probably grab a 30 off 150 coupon and hit my local staples try and pickup two of those acers, I should have mentioned stand is a non issue as these will be mounted on monitor arms

If this is strictly for work, why get a monitor in a 16:9 resolution. It make it shallower from top to bottom and wider from side to side. Unless you turn it to a portrait position then it would give a better use of the real estate, but most of those monitors are tn panels, which we all know sucks in that position.

The best TN monitors I have used are all Sammys. I would look into one of theirs if you want cheap, high res, TN. HP TNs are also pretty good usually.

I have seen quite a few Acers (not the ones mentioned so far), and other cheaper brands, and have never been impressed by the picture. Maybe just the models I have seen, but it has made me weary of them.

If you're going to mount them, make sure that the monitors offer VESA mounting compatibility. Some of the cheaper monitors have crappy stands and DONT even offer VESA mount ability which i believe makes them even crappier. But oh well, it seems as if the stand is the first place where corners get cut for cheaper monitors.

Well managed to snag two of the Acer 23's from my local staples, was able to apply a $30 off $150 coupon also so that worked great! The mounts should be here today or Monday also.

I hooked one up to test it out and I'm fairly happy with it thus far, especially for the price.
