I have a HP/Compaq Evo 300 SFF pc with onboard video. I put a PCI video card into the machine, and I was wondering how I can get the thing to use both video sources.
I can get windows to recognize the second card, but in the hardware manager it says that the device cannot start.
The BIOS has an option to define which video source is used on boot, and if I change it to the new card, then the onboard "cannot start". I think the problem lies in the PCI IRQ assignments in the BIOS. In that list it shows both onboard and the add-on card. One of them has an IRQ, and the other is marked "disabled." When I change it, regardless of what IRQ I set it to, the other always goes to disabled. I know it can be done, I have seen it.
