This is probably a dumb question, but would it be possible to connect both network connections on my motherboard to my router and be able to send/recieve data through each?

No. Your computer will assign one of the adapters as the main connection. You'll still only be using one adapter to access the net, under normal circumstances. You can specifically tell the computer to use one or the other, or both sometimes, but you won't see any increase. Sorry. :(

Eh, it's not a bad thing. There are alot of uses for a second adapter though. I use mine alot for my remote connection or to connect directly to a file server. There are more useful things to do with them, but it's late and my brain isn't working right. :)
