I bought a dual CCFL kit to build a friends computer. The inverter has 2 slots to plug in each CCFL. But, when I plug in a ccfl on one of the plugs, the inverter starts making a hissing noise and the ccfl flickers. The other plug is fine. Can I just solder the two ccfl wires together and have both of them run off of one plug?

yeah if you want them to run on half the power. The inverter is putting out enough power for only one ccfl. Look here for 50 cent inverters, just buy another one, it will be alot safer and easier. I have 3 i keep around just in case, so if you have a dollar or two go ahead and pick up some extra ones just incase something like this happens in the future.

JEEVES

Cool, thanks for the info. I found an inverter I had from another kit I forgot I had and used that.
