Can both my wifes and my cordless keyboard setups be 2.4ghz or is that going to cause issues considering our computers are close together?

It shouldn't cause issues. If it does, you can resync one keyboard to its receiver and it will switch to a different channel. Do that until there is no more interference and you'll be golden.
