TweakTown Crossfire X review

Nothing we haven't seen in any of the previous, and more well-done CrossfireX reviews.

Lets face it, there is only so much they can do with drivers for Crossfire or SLI. Some games are simply designed in a way that cannot take advantage of a multi-GPU configuration. The limitation is more with the game than the drivers,

They need to find a better way to distribute load across GPUs than AFR. Until then MGPU will never become mainstream. Micro-stuttering is also a very real issue.

i don't know where you got that from, but until crysis there has not been a case where a game needed to support multi gpu. multi gpu support came from the drivers. its the drivers job to determine which gpu does what to compile a frame. the fact of the matter is that driver teams are having a harder time getting the most out of multi gpu setups with games that utilize deferred shader rendering. every major next-gen engine uses this method, with cry engine 2 being the biggest culprit. since game makers aren't going back to 2004 when pixel pipes mattered more than shader processing, the driver teams from both nvidia and ati just need to keep their noses to the grindstone.

That review was unenlightining at best. I want ATI to succeed so I hope that their future driver revisions keep adding value to their cards, and that they offer real life inprovements (ie AA) with each new driver.
