TV Tuner predicament

I wasn't sure which forum fits this question; either this or video cards. Anyways, I have Direct TV and want to be able to watch TV on my computer. The problem is, my satellite receiver on my first floor on the opposite side of the house. Is there anything I can do about this. Is there some sort of wireless transmitter? What would I need to do?
