Hey guys, I recently bought a winfast PxPVR1200 tv tuner from newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815122010
I just installed it on my computer. I plugged the audo line into the cd in pins on my mobo and I plugged my tv cable line into the back of the card. I installed the drivers and started the program up. I just see a blank blue screen when I am trying to watch a channel. Does any one have any experience with these cards?
Thanks!

Here is my system:
CPU
Q6600 G0
Motherboard
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
Memory
4GB Patriot DDR2 800
Graphics Card
8800GTS 320MB
Power Supply
OCZ700W
Case
Antec 900
CPU cooling
Zalman 9700NT
OS
Vista Ultimate x64
Monitor
22inch Acer Widescreen

I've not used vista ultimate, but...

Every time I've setup a tuner, I had to set the input (svideo vs tuner then OTA vs cable) and then scan for channels. Sounds to me you are on the wrong input. A google search found there should be an option for "setup tv signal" in the media center of ultimate.

good luck.

Supposedly media center doesn't pick up on the card, you have to use the card's program that came with it. I can only scan for channels when it is set to tv input.

Well I know you don't have a Hauppage tuner, but there have been know issues with some programs that run under vista 64 with 4GB of memory. I had a similar problem with mine and luckily someone posted the correct drivers for my card to fix the issue. Here's the website that helped me out: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1266718&highlight=4gb I would suggest using google to see if there are any know issues with your card and vista 64 with 4gb. Good luck.

hmm, I searched around and found nothing so far expect for one post on newegg saying he had to do some mods to get it to work on 64bit vista, but he didn't explain. Any one have any experience with this card?

Finally I got the picture working! But the sound doesn't work now. A user on newegg said this:
"
Cons: Not easy to install at least using Vista. Install documentaion is sad I ended up having to post on forums for help because it overs no direction for Vista. It does work with the Vista but only after you do some tinkering with all of the settings in the program and OS.
"

I guess this is my problem as I have it plugged into the cd audio in on my mobo. How do I enable this?
