I have a somewhat aged TV-VCR combo (manufactured mid-90s I'd guess) that is having a problem. While in storage it was perched on some bins, and it fell off and landed on its screen, a fall of about 2 feet. It still works except that the color is off in the top corners of the screen; being all green on the left and blue on the right. It looks like I've taken magnets to it. Is there any way to fix this if the TV has no degauss feature?

Inside the TV on the back of the tube are a number of discs that can be rotated to adjust convergence etc. It looks like one or more of these have been dislodged.
I normally advise that an engineer perform the task but if you are competent and know the risks of even touching the tube for a moment try the following:

The discs are on a large plastic housing that plugs onto the end of the tube.
This may have moved. Wiggle it about and make sure it is firmly on the end of the tube.
Do this while it is switched off and unplugged.

You will note that all the discs have a paint stripe that is designed to show the location of all the disks when it left the factory.
If any appear to have moved, put them back into place.
Do this with the TV off and unplugged.

If they still appear to be in the right place, with the TV on, try adjusting each one individually to see what each does.
Get someone to watch what happens or watch it in a mirror.

Take extreme caution with your own safety.
Wear rubber soled shoes, dont kneel down and only ever use one hand!
Keep the other hand behind your back or hold onto something that is thoroughly unconductive.

The other discs will try to move with the one you are turning so try and stop them from moving as well.
Take care not to knock any of the paint off that marks the positions as when you have finished and it still doesnt work, you can reset them back to original settings and get the TV repaired professionally.
