So I've been using my Panasonic plasma I bought back in 2010, it's gone through quite a bit of usage the past 5 years but today this started happening to it. If the brightness on the TV is set to 80 or higher then I get a rather loud buzzing noise as well as all this red+green static crap showing up all over the screen as shown below:

However if the brightness is set to 79 or lower then it starts to go away until I lower the brightness enough to get a picture like this:

At the brightness level at which I eliminate that red+green though everything is too dim for normal viewing. Any way to try and fix this?

Is there a service manual? If you're brave and good with a soldering iron, I'd open the back and check for bulging/dead capacitors.

Hmm looks very promising. I'll give that a try when I've got some time. Thanks.
