I want to connect my current Rig with TV. Since I am using MSI Cyclone GTX 460 which has 2 DVI-I and a Mini HDMI Port. So which cable do I require?

Well that depends on what kind of connections your TV has. Chances are it has a HDMI port if it's relatively new, so get a mini HDMI to regular HDMI cable and connect it to your TV.

What's your current TV (brand and model)?

If your TV has at least one HDMI port, do you have a mini HDMI-to-HDMI cable or adapter? Do you have a DVI-to-HDMI cable or adapter?

Thanks, it is Samsung LA32C450E1

It has HDMI, DVI and USB on the back and side. Since I have to mount the TV on to the wall

I will buy a mini HDMI to HDMI cable but my graphic card doesn't have a DVI port so how will it work?

Just buy that cable, plug it in to your video card & your TV. Then select that cable's input from your TV menu when you turn on your PC. Done It will work.

Your video card does have a DVI port. It has two of them.

They both will provide the same quality, as long as you get a quality cable. HDMI will transfer the sound to the TV, where-as the DVI cable will need a separate source to play the sound through your TV's speakers.

Just make sure you get a quality cable as not all HDMI cables are created equal.

... But don't spend too much money on a "quality" HDMI cable. Monoprice has a good selection of cables available for relatively low prices.

Either a Mini-HDMI to HDMI or DVI to HDMI cable will work, as your video card has both outputs. Buy whichever cable is cheaper, the output will be identical. Don't worry too much about cable quality, especially for a short run. I've deployed plenty of $10 HDMI cables over the years and never had a failure.

OK thanks I purchased both the cables. Now there is slight problem. I want the output in TV as well as my display. How can I make it possible?

Well ensure both devices are plugged into the video card, then right click on the desktop, go to the NVIDIA Control Panel, click on the "Set up multiple displays" on the left, then ensure both displays are checked. (That's the steps in Windows 7 at least, should be very similar in Vista as well)

I just did that but still the result is still the same. Some times the display comes into TV not in monitor some times it other way round. Sometimes it only display blank screen on TV. Sometimes it display everything in monitor but mouse cursor is in TV and bla bla

and 2nd thing is I am using DVI cable not Mini HDMI cable and still the sound gets transferred to TV all the time. What I want is I want the sound to be on my PC speakers that is Lagendary Corsair SP 2500

Probably because your copy of Windows isn't genuine.

What drivers do you have installed for the video card?

Only thing I can guess is the connections aren't very good.

So you have a DVI cable connected to the DVI port on your vidcard and the DVI port on your TV, yet the audio is going to your TV and not your PC speakers?

What cable/port are you using for your monitor?

I purchased 2 cables
1) DVI to HDMI and
2) MIni HDMI to HDMI
and with both I am facing same issue

With my monitor I am having DVI to DVI Connector

the video issue? or the audio issue? you should not be getting any audio on your TV if the DVI port is the source for the TV. If video is intermittent, there is something either wrong with the cable, the connector, the vidcard, or drivers.

From my graphic card its the DVI cable and connected to HDMI port of TV

You are probably trying to use a resolution on the TV that the TV doesn't support. Does it say "No Signal" when trying to use the TV when the monitor is working?

If the cable is disconnected then it shows no signals. But the moment I connect the cable then the monitor shows blank screen and display transfers to TV. I am using the native resolution of TV that is 1366 X 960 resolution

OK I got the answer. Didn't realize that in order to view an application on TV i have to drag that application outside the Monitor from the right and use speakers as default sound in the sound settings
