I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AIW 128MB DDR, and obviously, I got it because I wanted tv input on my computer. Well yeah, thats great and everything, and I love the surround sound I get through it, but is there a way to get a better picture? I have my resolution set at 1280*1024 @ 32bit, and for the ATI TV software, I have it on highest performance and highest quality. I get a noticeable amnount of noise in my picture and want to enhance it. Are there any tweaks/products that help with this? Maybe a signal filter, I dont know. I have Comcast Basic Cable, not HD or anything special. I would think that the resolution on a computer with digital LCD would be better than a TV...especially a TV that is about 20 years old.

Any suggestions?

Here is are 2 screenshots of my TV quality:

Please help.

Other than that, how do you like the card. Would you recommend one over the 6600GT and a seperate TV Tuner?

I havent done any research/experience or anything on the 6600GT. But the ATI 9800AIW is a CRUCIAL card, I love everything about it. It truely is an amazing card, great performance for games, and the TV is okay. I think the quality issue is based on certain channels, here are two more screen shots on different channels:

As for what input connector Im using, Im using the analog cable TV input. As I mentioned earlier, my TV down here is like 20 years old, so it doesnt have S-Video or composite. Either way, if it did, could even get TV input from those alternative inputs?

Have you used DScaler before? I cant seem to figure out how to make it work.

I am about to buy a PCI TV tuner card so I can record over the air broadcasts of shows that I miss while I am at work. Does anyone know of a good ~$50 card that has nice PVR functions and a nice TV listing program? Remote is optional. Also, I considered USB 2.0 as an interface, but I assume that it has lower quallity of video and high system utilization. Am I correct in this assumption?

Yeah, I was messin around witht he ATI Multimedia Control package thing. I think it might be my cable signal quality or something, because my TV has the same fuzziness to it. Do you think a motorolla signal booster would do anything?

"Eliminate the frustration of poor reception, "snowy" pictures, and data loss when watching cable TV and movies, or using your broadband Internet connection.

Now there's a fast and effortless way to make your signal strength up to 32 times more powerful! The Motorola Signal Booster enhances analog and digital picture quality, and reduces lost data.

This device also allows you to optimize multiple broadband devices in your home — televisions, cable set-top boxes, cable modems, VCRs, and digital radios -- all from one convenient cable. What's more, it's easy to install and tools are not required.

Clearly, the Motorola Signal Booster is a strong alternative to weak signal quality."

i have no idea.

go ahead and post another thread in the general hardware section to get everyone else's opinions.
