Yeah I was lucky that it only took one smack that time. Other times it may take something like 3-5 smacks :p

Eventually I will consider to RMA the monitor or to open it up and fix it myself.
 
Haha!

I used to have an old CRT that would flicker ocassionally. Unfortunately, only 1 in every 5 smacks would fix it. I soon found out that gently squeezing the sides (hugging?) of the monitor fixed it every time.
