Turning off the Power LED

Hello there, lately I've noticed that most newer LCD monitors seem to come with an option to tone down or turn off the power LED entirely. Personally I like this feature (for example, on the nec90gx2) and have noticed that the samsung 931c does not appear to have it.

Since dvi connections have allowed people to develop programs that allow one to control monitor hardware settings through software, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a method that might be used to turn off the power LED on the syncmaster 931c. Although I personally do not like this monitor, my friend seems sold on it but is hoping to be able to disable the power led (it's bright blue, but the real killer is when it starts turning on/off repeatedly in sleep mode).

Any ideas would be appreciated, I realize this might very well be impossible, thank you.

I do not know of a way,I do know more then a few Nec's support this 'feature'.Have you tried contacting Samsung yet ?

Do it the easy way like I do -- cut out a a tiny square of black electrical tape and place it over top of the led, optionally leaving a tiny sliver of it visible. I do that so I can still observe the led status but it's so small that it's not distracting at all.

Thats what I did with my Olevia with its bright blue power button.
