Turbo Cache/Hyper-Memory Stealing System Memory

Simple question that I couldn't really find an answer to online. If I buy a cheapo video card for a system that won't be used for games at all, I'm not going to need more than the 128MB on the card itself. Can I limit how much memory TurboCache/HyperMemory takes from the system ram?

Which card are you looking at? You should be able to find something with dedicated ran for under 50 bucks pretty easily.

I don't think you can control it, but it should only allocate system memory while in 3D mode. And even then, it doesn't always take the maximum.

There are very cheap non-TC/HM cards as mentioned above. Here are 2 examples:

$26 Asus EAX300 128MB http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=EAX300-128MB&cat=VCD

$33 Asus GeForce 6600 128MB http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=EN6600-128-WB&cat=VCD

It's not like HM/TC cards are much less than those.

Take 10% off non-geek special items with the code FATWALLET. Shipping is extra and based on weight. I usually order a few cheap items (cables, adapters, etc) since it doesn't add much, if anything, to the shipping cost.
