I am in the market for the above. Ive had a wintv go and a msi master, not really happy with either. Looking below the 100 dollar mark. NO MONO AUDIO. What do you guys use and how do they perform, im going to be using it to convert some vhs tapes to dvd. TIA

I have the leadtek Winfast TV2000XP. I have been fairly happy with it. I haven't had any other cards to compare it to though. The drivers are a bit touchy but it has solid hardware and works just fine if you install it correctly. Just make sure to check the leadtek website for driver installation procedures if you get it.

Agreed....watching TV on mine as we speak and I am pretty happy with it...

Whatever you do, DO NOT get the ATI TV Wonder cards. They suck horribly! It has been nothing but trouble. I have owned the TV Wonder VE and the Pro both suck.

I'm waiting to HDTV becomes more popular and the cards come down in price.

Where were you 2 hours ago, i just went and bought a tv wonder pro. ill take it back if it sucks ass.

The ATi tuners don't suck. How can they suck, most of the time both ATi and Hauppauge use the same Brooktree/conexant mainchips anyways.

The software bundles are a little bit different, I don't like either for videocapture. Nothing beats virtualdub with huffyuv loseless (both are freeware programs)

Don't expect good image quality from a NTSC cable input and you will be fine.

Is there any other good TV Tuners that compare to the Leadtek and are in the $50 range?

Whats the difference between the WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe and WinFast TV2000 XP Expert?

best buy for 89, has a 20 buck rebate, im installing it later. seems to have the same chip that my old msi master had, but im hoping its implemented better

well i must say that ATI has done a very good job with this card, i love the video desktop and the transparent overlay, i can browse the web and watch tv at the same time. this card is much clearer than the wintv go and msi tv @nywhere card i also own. I assume its the drivers that make the difference as the mis and the ati use the same chip, they do use different tuners, the msi is digital and the ati is analog. So overall im happy with the ATI and i think ill keep it. Thanks for all the advise.

The Leadtek TV2000 XP - Expert Edition has alot of really nice features i read about.

A couple features that really caught my attention are the PIP, time-shifting and DirectBurn DVD. What seemed nice to me about the PIP function is that you can move and resize the second video however you want. Time-shifting allows you to pause live TV and then watch, rewind and fast forward through the recorded program. Feel free to take a restroom or snack break any time you want with this feature. The DirectBurn DVD features is actually what it sounds like. With the TV2000XP - Expert Edition you can record video directly to a DVD or VCD if you have the appropriate optical drive and media.

There both good cards.

The audio recording on the winfast seems better to me.

Both cards use a comb filter.

Usually perfer the ati for dvd stuff.

I have considered that happ 250/350 card, its a real long card. Twice the
length of my winfast card. There is even a low profile winfast card.

my 2 cents

You'd be an idiot to buy anything other than the ATI HDTVwonder about to be released. Its a normal TV tuner AND a digitalTV tuner AND an HDTV tuner.

Wow, no need to be insulting, im sure that thing is well over 100 bucks too. do you have linkys to that stuff

No, you would be an idiot not to buy a Leadtek TV2000 XP - Expert Edition when their only $50 and can handle most everything NORMAL people need out of a TV Tuner.

I've had nothing but trouble with my ATI Tv wonder...Unless they did some major changes in this version I will be staying far, far, away!
