MY water cooling rig right now is amazing. With my fans on low with my 2.8 @3.4 sits at an idle of 31-32c with my 9800pro oced at 450mhz.

My tubing is somewhat long more in a messy way than a "Long Long" way. Problem is I like the temps now but I want to shorten my tubing.

If i shorten my tubing will my temps go up?

No, shortening your tubing will not make your temps go up. This assumes you don't take off the waterblocks which introduces variables such as mounting pressure when remounting and thermal paste application which will cause a variance in temps.

If anything, shorter tubing will help your temps. Less tubing = less restriction = better flow = lower temps. I don't think a major temp loss will be seen, but it doesn't hurt to try.

You could always just try replacing one tube and taking a look at your temps, if they change at all then you can decide if you should go back, or shorten em all, not too hard that way.

shorter tubing = less water in the loop, right? It may be detrimental to your temps if your rad is inefficient, although it doesn't look like it is, at all :p

It will be hard to see a drastic change, but I'd recommending doing that and making the experiment a little more scientific. And don't rush into it, you don't want to cut all your tubing too short and then realize that you've screwed up and you'll have to go buy more tubing. Doesn't sound like it can improve too much performance wise, but aesthetics are nice too.

No, the small change in the amount of water won't make a difference.

thats all i want, i dont want better temps i want the inside to look better without a negative impact.

I dont really see there being any negative impact, neutral at worst, you'll increse flowrate by shortening tubes, and we all know flowrate is very important :)

yes i agree. You'll be fine, shorten them up. Below is my rig (with short set up) and i have a 1ghz overclock on a P4 and radeon running at 482mhz. I get the same Idle temps as you, so you'll be fine. Besides i personally like the "shorter and fatter" tubing look, i think it looks cleaner.

If you can post a pic, i'd like to see how long it is. (heheheh)

The only negative impact (besides there being less water, which as mentioned above [thanks] won't make any noticeable difference) is that the bends might be tighter (and with less tubing) causing potential kinkage (depending on the way you set it up).
