Tualatin w/Lin-Lin Socket Adapter...

Does this fit into ANY s370 board? mATX tuatlatin support boards are bloody hard to find, so I'm hoping I could just pick up any old s370 one....

If not, which can this fit into? I tried looking for the differences between tualatin and non-tualatin CPUs and I just got confused in the process :(
 
No. Tualatin Pentium III's are not backwards compatible with Coppermine FCPGA socket 370 boards. They have the same number of pins, but are pinned out differently.

The reverse isn't true. Tualatin Pentium III boards are backwards compatible with Coppermine Pentium III's and Celeron PPGA chips.
 
with that adapter, id say yes you can run a tualatin in a p3 board. i have a slotket for a 440bx board that modded to support tualatins.
 
If the board supports flip chip P3 and Celeron CPUs, then the Lin Lin Tualatin adapter might work.

There are some chipsets (especially SiS, certain VIA and even intel 440ZX) and boards that just will not work with that adapter. I've bought several from compgeeks to upgrade different systems. If the chipset is one of the latest from the generation (440BX, for example), there's a very good chance it will work.

There are more sophisticated adapters from PowerLeap, but the cost is pretty high. The Lin Lin adapter just remaps/isolates a couple of pins (#reset, #rdy, etc), plus allows the selection of FSB and voltage. You can do that without an adapter:

The green dots are on the pins I isolated with tape, the red lines trace 2 bridge wires I added: the short one is to fix a 0.025v difference (completely optional and something the lin lin adapter does not do) and the longer wire moves the #reset pin. The CPU doesn't need to be modified if you can't work on such a small scale since the same changes can be made on the motherboard by cutting traces and soldering in wires.
 
The adapter might do it. But I don't know for sure that it would.
