i got myself a new Thermaltake XaserIII super tower and
i am wondering what length cables to get for it?

i was thinking of extra long ones since the hard drive bays
sit sideways but from measuring, it doesnt look like they
need to be that long?

18" - 24" - 30" are the common lengths

i have my dvdrw in the center 5.25 slot
and the floppy in the top 3.5 slot
and the hard drives will be in the top cage
that points out to side of case

let me know what everyone is using?

screw you guy :p

i m a proud xaser owner :D (granted that i modded the shiz out of it)

anyways yes.. follow his advice... the longer cable = more to hide...

shorter the better. mine's a little long but i hid it well...

How do you mod a pre-mod?

actually, i prefer longer cables now. sure it's more to hide. but in the end it looks cleaner. so that you don't have some cable hanging out because it wouldn't fit anywhere else because it's too short.

i got my dvd and floppy installed today in my XaserIII
kinda sucks i cant get to the back side of the floppy to install
the two screws! i even took off the other side panel and no holes
to get a screwdriver into!

i think i will have to order some short cables, my long ones came
today and they are way way way long! i got the extra long 30"

so i will reorder some shorter cables and just use the stock flat
ribbons for the time being
.
.

maybe you guys can help me out a little bit in here?

i have asked this question in another thread and havent
gotten any answers for it!

as you can see in my sig for my pc
i have all that stuff already and im wondering what
to get for memory?

im not going to overclock right away but i bought all the parts
so when i learn to do it i can hop right in with what i got!

i want to know what size memory to get that will work with both
my stock setup and then when i do the oc'ing!

a lot of guys have my same setup but all use different types of
DDT memory??

someone did mention PC3500 so hopefully someone can help
me answer this question?

thanks again

LOL

open the front door... u'll see the screw to unscrew so you can take out the floppy bay from the case and screw in both sides..

sounds like u don't really know your case very well ;)

as for memory... corsair is the shiz...

also...

Benny B :p

i first took off all the ugly plastic fan holder and the side fan holder... i took off the ugly top fan plastic crap and put in a window with 120mm fan... i fit a water cooling set up into a case that had absolutely no place for a radiator or a pump... it looks very sweet... Carbon fiber window trimming... **ACTUAL CARBON FIBER** (RICE ROCKET STYLEZ!!!!)) took out that ugly fan controller from thermaltake. and put in a coolermaster musketeer on top and right above it i put in a zalman fan controller. **also very sweet** put in a PSone lcd and hooked it up as a second monitor. sleeved all my damn freakin wires... put a Cold Cathode in the front so that the grill glows blue at night.. and i can name about another batch more...

i am absolutely done with my case i think

if that's not at least semi-modding.. i dunno what is :p

put all teh componets in, then using a sewing tape/any flexible measureing device, measure the distance, and the the closest size avaible.

BTW does anyone know where I can find 4-6" round ide cables?

If only because no one said it yet...

Anything past 18" is out-of-specifications for ATA.

And don't quote me on this, but anything less than 12" is under?
(Comment seeking approval from the more experienced members of the forum...)

Shorter cables = better... My airflow and neatness can suffer a little for the sake of the proper bits and bytes being read and written to the drive at maximum speed.

Speed. This is what the PC game is all about, am I wrong?

While I'm here, let me reiterate 'eww' to Thermaltake equipment in general.

tt ownage, we've gotten into this before
and as stated before, its all a matter of opinion
and IMO regardless of how many mini mods can be done, the xasers are really ugly.
