I'm looking at the Thermaltake M9:

Microcenter has it for a great price right now, but I wanted to know if anyone had experience with the case. I'm looking to use it for my son's system. He's starting to go to LAN parties with me and the Coolermaster CM Stacker 830 case I'm using for his system right now is just too darned huge. I figure the TT M9 and a sunbeam LAN party bag would be perfect.

Any thoughts?
 
I have no first-hand experience with it, but it looks rather low-quality from the reviews I've read. I recommend the Coolermaster Centurion 590 for a similar case of superior build quality.
 
Id go aluminum for Lans, you should check out the TT matrix vx, its the lightest case I can find on the market.
 
Well, those cases look good, but I'm still interested in the M9. I can walk into Microcenter tomorrow and pick one up, with tax it'll probably end up being about $5 cheaper then the CM case (with shipping included) and aside from being a little heavier, the case seems pretty good for the money. With the $20 MIR it would be $25 cheaper and the slightly heavier weight wouldn't be that big of a deal, especially wrapped in a LAN party bag. If I buy one, I'll try to post a mini-review... ;)
 
Actually, now I'm having an even harder time deciding. The M9 is $80 with a $20 MIR and the Antec Three Hundred is $40 with no MIR. Both look like great cases. Both are steel, so heavier then I'd prefer, but the price points are hard to argue with and they're both available at Microcenter, which means I can pick it up easily instead of waiting for shipping. Not to mention Microcenter has both cases for cheaper the Newegg. I have to decide which case I'd prefer. My son doesn't care, so it's up to me. I'm leaning towards the Antec, because it's half the price, even though I like the looks of the TT better. Dang, decisions, decisions...lol!
 
I have the 300 and I love it. It's small, but easily fits everything I have. It also keeps everything cool while staying quite. If you can get it for $40, go for it!
 
Yeah, that seems to be the advice of friends and coworkers I've talked to. $40 seems like one heck of a deal. I'm heading to Microcenter either tonight or tomorrow to see both cases in person to see if I like one better then the other. It looks like either one (or the CM590) would work well for housing my son's system and keeping it cool, while being much easier to take to LAN parties.
 
I'd definitely go with the 300 over the M9. If you want a little clue as to the quality of these cases, look at the weight. The M9 weighs 6.4kg, while the 300 weighs 7.2kg and the 590 weighs 8.5kg. That tells you that the Thermaltake case is made out of thinner steel than the other two, and is therefore a flimsier and lower-quality case.
 
I have this case at work, I have experience with the Antec 900 and 300. The M9 is very flimsy and weak as some have already mentioned.

The 300 is far superior option really and is your best bet.
 
I've have had excellent experiences building Antec Rigs than ThermalTakes...
 
Well, I like many different case manufacturers. In the house here we have a Lian Li, a Coolermaster and a ThermalTake. My first case was an Antec and I loved it. Now I just go with whatever I see that I like. The 590, M9 and 300 all look like very nice cases. I'm looking forward to hitting Microcenter tomorrow to look at all three. I'm thinking I'll most likely get the 300, mostly due to the number of people saying it's a great case, plus the awesome price.
 
Ended up getting the Antec 300. For the price, I'm VERY impressed with this case. I'll post a mini-review when I get my son's current parts moved over to it.
