Trying to update windows on Win ME - Help me kind people.

I'm trying to run windows update on windows ME. I just reformatted the computer, so everything should run fine right? no. Everytime I try and run windows update the computer freezes, then goes to the blue screen of death (which I haven't seen in quite some time since I only use xp), then when it comes back from the blue screen it says IE is not responding. Any other way to update windows? :confused

ME, wow. I pity you.

It's a pain, but you should be able to drop by MS's website and download each update manually through the download section (i.e. not auto-update, but actually searching for updates). Good luck..
