Trying to understand Bitcoin payments.

Hey!

I've sent payment through my Bitcoin-wallet.
But the transaction now has "sending" status for past 20 minutes.
I did have to raise the "$" amount to (slightly over-)equal the requested "Bitcoin" amount to be sent.
So the amount of $Dollars is not "official" as the requested payment stated.
Will this payment go through?
