Ok we have 5 printers networked in our department.
The newest HP 4200 shows its ip in the display but
our color printer is a $2500 hp flashing lights junker.
NO led screen and I can't find the ip for the printer.
Any ideas on how to find the ip...our IT department
sucks and won't give out that info because of security
reasons...GIVE ME A BREAK

but then most of them can't spell IT.
but they are all related to someone big and high up..

well anyway is there a way to find the ip of a printer?
under properties its not listed. And I need to get in to
read the errors we get every day.

thanks for any help

Dont know if this falls under the dont ask how to get around the rules but if your IT staff said they cant give it to you there is a reason..

Dont know why you would need the errors off the printer either, sounds like you are trying to print color documents when you shouldnt.. Could be wrong though!

I'm pretty sure this goes against the rules here. And anyway, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the IT folks in most cases.

Ask them. If they don't want to give it to you, then they have their reasons. And if this is work related, that reason could be nothing other than they don't like your hair cut, and it'd still be valid.

Learn to live with it.
