Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, so I just want to say hello and let you know that I look forward to learning from everyone here.

What I'm trying to learn about now, is the new breed of modular power supplies. Which ones are good, what to look for in one, etc. etc. By modular PSU, I mean the type that let you plug in whatever type of plug you want or need on the back of the power supply (the side that faces the inside of the PC tower. :)

I'm building a new tower and would love to use this type of PSU if there are some good ones.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Prozac ;)

Corsair/Seasonic are the elite choices.

List of good modular PSUs:

EDIT: er ... I guess that's not a "legit" list. My bad?

If your budget is 90-110$, go for the Corsair HX520. If it's lower, I'd spring for an Antec NeoHE unit. Silent, efficient, and Seasonic-built; they're good units. The 430 and 380 models are highly recommended for low noise output over at SilentPCReview.

Agreed. That is not an official jonnyguru.com list.
