Just did a format. Tried to install the latest cats for my XT. I am being told there in no vga installed. I try to instll them and am being told no drivers can be found. I went into device manager, uninstalled them (they had the yellow icon) Then did a search for changes deal. Found the vga, but I get errors..cant find drivers. This is searching on the XP disk and my mobo disk. What do I do?

you have to go to your motherboard manufacterers website and find the drivers for your motherboard. Once you find those there should be one that is a VGA Driver. You need to install that before you install Cat's. If you tell me your make model and manufactorer of your MoBo I can help you look.

I dl the driver off that page for my card. I keep getting the same error..no vga installed.

When I hit that link I went to VGA drivers...it lists a ton of them for diff cards, this makes me assume they are just drivers for your card, not a gen VGA driver.

I am relly lost on this guys...HELP!!
Like when you 1st install windows it puts in a gen vga driver..this did not happen. Should I just format again? I have not installed anything yet, or is there an easier way. And if I do format..how int he hell can I make sure the VGA drivers get installed?

Did you remember to install the chipset drivers for your NForce3 before installing the CATs? If not, the ones on your motherboard CD will probably work fine. The newest ones from NVIDIA are here. I've installed them the other way around (CATs first followed by chipset drivers) and had it work but your NForce3 may be pickier.

I installed latest DX9, Installed all mobo drivers....Now I am getting the error of " inf error, video driver not found" This is in the ATi setup. Then it goes to "try and set up your display adapter with a standard vga driver befor trying to run standard setup".

If you're completely stuck then you should probably try one last time:
1) format partition
2) clean install Windows
3) install chipset drivers and reboot
4) install CATs
If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else you could do.
