Hey Everyone,

I'm an I.T. engineer at a company that recently has merged with two other companies, because of this I.T. infrastructure is currently a small chaos.

What needs to be done is a new domain needs to be setup to basically provide unity on a cosmetic level for most of the end-users.
However the issue is I'm not ready just yet to migrate exchange 2010 to a new domain.

My thinking is to setup the new domain, and then setup a two-way forest trust between the new domain and the old domain. Will this allow users placed in the new domain to communicate with exchange that is still on the old domain?

I'm just beginning to sketch this out as it was just placed on my desk. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks as always.

You need to do a lot of research on this before you do anything.

Look at multi-forest exchange environments.

Obviously you have a lot going on trying to merge 3 different companies. You should be having regular meetings as a group, with one person who is clearly the decision maker.

If you spend less than 20 hours planning, testing and meeting on this issue you're probably doing it wrong.
