Yo, I'm new to this forum....hope that you guys can help me with a problem.
About a week ago, one of mine cpu waterblock valve burst and weaked a few drops of water onto my 6800GT PCI-E. The amazing thing is that the card appears to still be functioning, but the temperature sensor for the core is all messed up. Now, my core temperature constantly reads "256 C" When I booted up video card intensive game like Quake4, everything seems to be fine except that the game appeared to be a bit choppy from what I remembered. The same thing happened when I booted up other games.
My guess is that the "slowdown threshold" feature in forceware is purposely slowing down my performance to prevent "overheating".
So now, I really need to find a way to over-ride this safety mechanism. I've tried looking around some nvidia bios editors like NiBTors, but still no luck. Please, can someone help me to turn off the slowdown threshold?
