Truely disableing Security center

not sure if this is well known or not.. but I stumpled on truely disableing Security center in XP sp2..

run>services.msc>stop and disable "Security center"

I was in there killing my builtin Cd burning when I noticed it... yea no more bitchen about windowsupdate being off...!
 
Just click "Change the way Security Center alerts me" in Security Center.
 
ohh wow, thats seems to work as well, I never noticed that... i feel so n00b..

Anyway, I think i would rather jsut have the servie stopped all together.
 
I go into services under administrative tools and disable the service that way. Works every time.
 
I really dont think it makes a diffrence... if it is shut off at the control pannel then the service is still running, but not doing anything. I highly think there is a problem disableing the service itsself... we ran XP for how long without it before SP2?
