With the new mounting bracket for the Rev C TRUEs, does the spring-loaded screw get torqued all the way down till it can go no further? Does any part of the screw come out the bottom of the bracket? I am asking this because the new setup has the mounting system go right over the ferrite caps around the CPU socket on many x58 mobos and I am wondering how close they come to hitting them.

TRUE Rev C mounting bracket question

The spring loaded screws shouldnt go through the holes on the bracket as theyre capped to prevent this, just screw them down one side at a time till you have a good secure and even pressure on each side. I was worried about this as well on my p6t dlx but my concerns were unfounded.
Not all the way, i simply screwed them down till i couldnt get the screws to turn anymore, you dont want to over do it, its one of those things that youll get a feel for when doing it yourself mate, as long as you have good equal pressure on both screws and the bracket is hard to move you should be fine.
That's confusing. Screwing them down until they don't move anymore would lead me to believe you have bottomed out. My Ultima 90 has a similar mechanism to hold down the HS to the board and the only time they stop moving is when they are down all the way.
Ahh sorry mate, i screwed it down until the springs were fairly well compressed, the screws will only go into the bracket so far, as the bottom of the screw hole is capped to prevent it from going through and hitting any capacitors, its a hard one to explain but once you start tightening the screws down youll soon realise how tight youll need them.
