Hey guys, I just put together a new computer

A10-7870K, MSI A88XI AC V2, GSkill 2133 9-11-11 1.6v

Hooked everything up, booted up and set up the BIOS. So far so good, I install Windows 8, all the Windows updates and drivers. Running great. Do the update to 8.1 and it fails. Do it again and it updates to 8.1. So it's been on and doing things for a number of hours at this point.

Now this is where the issues start. The screen will randomly go black and just sit there for a bit until it finally reboots. It started out just happening in Windows, then went to not always booting, then to when I was in the BIOS a few times so it can't be a software issue. Did a clear CMOS jumper in there which didn't do anything, still got Windows and BIOS crashes after the reset.

I just let it sit for about 20min prior to and while typing this and just turned it on and no issues for 20 minutes which after the past hour of constant reboots is strange.

Now that it's working properly again, I'm stumped, any thoughts from you guys? So I think some stress testing needs to be done, is Prime 95 with I think it was Large FFT still the stress test of choice or have they come up with something better at this point?

With it not giving me issues, I had enough time to notice that there was a BIOS update about 2 months back that said something about support for new processors. I got the update in and haven't had any problems since.

So I'm hoping that it was just the BIOS not being properly updated for the CPU.
