Trouble with Internet Sharing

I have a Macbook Pro (silver kind) running OSX 10.5.8 that I use internet sharing on while I'm at work so I can connect my iTouch while I'm at my workstation (my office refuses to install wireless access points, don't ask). The internet sharing is setup with WEP and DHCP active.

I started doing this in Nov'09 with no issues. In the last few months however I have come across major problems where my Touch can no longer hold a stable connection to the wireless internet sharing signal. The touch will connect for 30-60 seconds then drop the signal for 10-30 seconds before it reconnects. This goes on and on all day if I let it. I don't think the problem is with the Touch as it connects to my home wireless network, and PC generated internet sharing signals fine.

Has anyone else had this kind of an issue? I thought I remembered an update from a while back saying something about internet sharing but I can't find any documentation on it. Any help/suggestions would be great.
