I upgraded from my BFG 6800 GT-OC 256mb PCI-E to a EVGA 7800GT. My framerates or horrible, running processor now @ stock venice 3000 speeds, I checked all the antialisiaing, etc. Like 50fps in css. Vertical synce disable RES: 1024. Something is wrong because my BFG card smashed this one. I have the PCI-E power plugged in etc. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Playing what game? Using what other hardware? How did you uninstall the old drivers before reinstalling these ones with the new card? For that matter, using what driver version? What's your PSU like? Do you have enough air getting through the case? What are the temps on the card like? Is it only slowing down in certain areas, or everywhere? Is it actually a frame-rate drop, or is it hitching?
In other words....more info, man!

Game is CSS. My sig has my system. I uninstalled my old drivers through CP and then nvidia, remove display driver only. using 77.77 drivers, PSU is a antec neo power 480 air flow is not problem. Idle temp of card 46c, CSS 55c+/-. frame rate is solid SLOW ASS SPEEDS! like 50-60 fps. very choppy and laggy..

Awesome. Nice info. Good stuff.
Now. To the problem. CSS is definitely CPU limited. It doesnt matter all that much what you're video card is supposed to be capable of, the game will almost always be limited by the CPU when we're talking low-end. Therefore, as you have a Venice 3000, I thoroughly reccommend overclocking it. Seriously. You should notice an exponential FPS increase up to about 2.4Ghz, I would think. Give it a shot. You should be able to manage that on stock cooler and a step-up on the volts.

I am also having trouble with my recent purchase of a XP-90... high temps I sold my W/C kit as my sig says man I usually run it about 2800. Thanks for the info, ran drive cleaner etc. I will update if I get good news!

Hehe... exponential? I think not :p

What good does it do if he overclocks his CPU when his OLDer graphics card got a better fps with teh SAME cpu speed. I suggest uninstallin your drivers, run driver cleaner, and try the 78 series drivers.

I have installed the newest drivers and did DC. Let me try a game :) Cross your fingers!

Christ. Yes. Sorry. I meant something along the lines of "linear scaling". Crap.
Red Bull and Vodka WILL roll you.

If that doesn't work, try the drivers that came with the card. I know it goes against conventional wisdom, but sometimes going back to the CD-driver can increase performance of the card, as well as reliability of the computer as a whole. Mind you, if the CD drivers don't come with support for the card itself, then forget all of what I just said

ok now I bumped my speed to 2.2 and turned off all AA, etc its decent... playable. I miss my water cooled setup @ 2.8 :( Thanks guys.

No worries. I had the same sorta problem when I traded up to an X800XT with my mobile 3400.

still trobule its like memory errors etc.. never had these problem untill I installed this card! Damn this evga7800GT

psu problem?

maybe, change a BIOS setting or two in the VC sec.

Something under our noses is messing you up.

Hate to say it but I'm gonna go with defective card. My 7800gt owns css, and actually source is not very cpu limited, you should only dip down to 50-60fps with that proc, with all options on, when the action is intense.

VC is more than enough in all areas. temps are good etc. I keep my machine on a low fat diet so nothing is clouded up.

we both have Nvidia Chipset 6.66 drivers, and a antec power supply. I have the neo power
