Thanks for looking guys.
I have an Epox 8rda3+ board with the onboard SATA controller. A while ago I bought a Maxtor 80gb and installed windows on it using a raid drivers disk I made. It always runs great. I also have an older IDE driver in the system. A few days ago I bought a Seagate 200gb SATA barracuda drive off of NewEgg. I put the drive in. It shows up in the BIOS and in Hardware Manager, but not in My computer.
Does this mean that I have to format the drive via the Windows install (and put in a floppy drive again and all the other nonsense)?
Also I am experiencing some random restarts with the drive hooked up. Could this mean I have a power problem? I have an Enermax 350w power supply, but I do have 3 hard drives, 2 cd roms, and a sound blaster platinum. I am not overclocking and I am only using a 2100xp though so maybe it will go away when I remove the old drive.
Also I tried removing the IDE drive because I don't need it now, and my computer won't boot. Even though Windows is installed on the 80gb Maxtor SATA drive it just wont boot without the old IDE drive in. It gives me a invalid system disk error. This one has me completely baffled, any ideas? I hope I don't have to reinstall again.
