ok this problem started last night. when i try to go forward or back it just sits there and i have to click it a couple of times. this site is the only one doing this so i know its not my comp.

did you try flushing your dns and clearing cookies?

To flush DNS:
Start > Run > cmd >ipconfig /flushdns

Try that and see if that works.

thanks but that didnt help. i also get an application error when i exit Hardforum saying memory cannot be read. this all started last night. everything else including all other forums and sites are working fine.

this site (and this site only) was incredibly slow and unresponsive for me as well last night. But it's been okay today...just seemed like it was for a few hours.

Because IE is crap.
is that the best educated answer i get? i have gotten the memory error before at hardforum but never had the trouble with the back button on here before. again this is the ONLY site that gives me trouble.

I'm not sure how the ads work on this site, but I'll venture a guess that what's happening is the banner ads are loading new pages and what's happening is you're clicking back through a couple of framed ads before you back out of the full page I remember that used to happen on a lot of sites. The ads don't load on my system (work blocks them) so I can't say whether this still happens or not.

Are you hearing the *click* sound that usually indicates a page loading?

edit: They're right that IE6 is crap, but I'm never satisfied to give an answer like that. IE doesn't normally behave like that, crap or not.

yes i think you are right. it makes the click sound but i have to push the back button twice. also one of the flash ads on the side of the page would give the "page cannot be found" instead of loading. anyway it starting working fine a couple days ago but thanks for letting me know im not crazy. lol. :D
