Trouble installing whs

I am installing whs and i get to the part where it says "setup is inspecting your computers hardware configuration" and it just sits there. the message doesnt go away or anything. i have let it sit for about an hour. I have pulled just about everything i can out of the system besides the video card, including disabling everything in the bios (onboard sound, lan, usb, etc) except the ide controller.

The hardware is a asus p4pe and a p4 2.4gig. It has 1 gig of ram.
