Trouble detecting Raptor

Alright so heres the story. I have a Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0, I've used IDE hard drives forever. Recently the primary drive died so I decided to go for SATA, since I have heard a lot of good things about them, especially the Raptor. I order one 74GB WD Raptor, I plan to just have it as the primary drive(No raid stuff), I'm trying to do a fresh install of Win XP but nothing can detect the hard drive.

Plug it in, bios does not detect it, even when I do the F6 during Windows Installation and choose the newest SATA drivers the hard drive still cannot be detected. I've been googling like crazy trying to figure out the problem. I've updated the BIOS, got the latest SATA drivers, moved cables to different positions, no luck. Is there something vital that I am forgetting to do?

Im also running an a7n8x and iirc there is a jumper to disable the sata controller. Have you checked that?
 
OMG Thank you so much! I checked it earlier and I saw that it was enabled. When you posted I decided to check it again and I noticed that it was disabled! The first time I looked I actually was looking at the CMOS reset jumper. Thanks a ton! Its finally recognizing the hard drive.
