Anybody here actually have the Tritton Detonator gaming headset to clear up any questions?

I'd love to see a review of the 'Tritton Detonator' as well as a comparison to the 'Turtle Beach EarForce X12' gaming headsets by HF.

I've never had a "gaming" headset before. I couldn't believe how expensive most of them were so, I figure at those prices they better freaking be versatile enough to do it all.

What started all of this for me was the kid wanted some for Christmas because his 10 year old melon found the $20 Microsoft headset uncomfortable and kinda sucky. So, I was trying to find the best gaming headset for the money but, figured I'd get some for myself too.

I needed them to work on the XBox 360, but it would be sweet if they were versatile enough to work on the PC as well as other devices - it's a bit looney to have to buy a new headset for each type of device.

Well, in all my checking around I just went ahead and purchased TWO of the $80 Tritton Detonators since they were on sale for $49, which is like buy one get one for half price!!! However, I had to wrap them quickly before the kid got home.

They claim the Tritton Detonator will work on the PC - I saw the USB but not the pink & green 3.5mm jacks so, I'm unclear if that's an issue or not. These have the 50mm drivers but they're not surround sound and the video above says he gets a noise/humm/hiss from the USB & red & white connections - not sure what's up with that either. So, I'm just hoping that they're worth the $49 at this point.

I just contacted Tritton. They said that the Tritton Detonator will work on a PC but sound only without chat. In order to chat one needs the adapter/splitter from Radio Shack, same as many other headsets, to go into the pink & green jacks.

Also, be aware that dust inside the jacks on XBox or PC could cause humm or hiss sounds.

The Tritton Detonator will work for telephone too. I'll have to test to see if they'll work for Skype or not. If they do and they work good on PC then, that pretty much covers everything doesn't it?
 
Nothing? Really? No help at all, ahh?

Just trying to find out what headset I'd be able to chat on both Xbox and PC
