Triple Buffering

Is there a way to force triple buffering for OpenGL in the Nvidia 61.77 drivers? I prefer to use triple buffering in all of my games, so it would be cool if I could force it.

Also, is there a console command in D3 to enable triple buffering?

I would like to know too, I HATE tearing. I wish nVidia had something like ATi's drivers where you could force TB in every OGL game.

i keep hearing its in here somehwere yet i cant find it anywhere...

I have asked this question myself, and the answer I've gotten is that you can't. I think someone @ the B3D forums said that nV doesn't support Triple Buffering in their OpenGL drivers. If someone knows otherwise, I would like to know.

If you hate image tearing, why not just put on v-sync? Problem solved.

Ok, its obvious you have no idea what triple buffering does...

Looks like you can turn it on using RivaTuner. Whether or not it actually enables it, I don't know. I haven't tried it yet.

In simple terms here is an explanation:

The nVidia drivers default to double buffering, this means that if your refresh rate is 75hz and you turn on VSYNC and you take a ONE fps hit, your framerate drops to 37.5fps. If you drop below 37fps your framerate is halved again to 18.75fps.

What triple buffering does is store each framerate number in memory(ex 75,74,73) so if you drop 1fps from 75 you will be at 74 instead of 37.5.

Triple buffering + VSYNC is the only way to play IMO, visual quality is improved when in motion at the cost of MAYBE .01fps.

does anyone know where this option is in ati's control panel? I can't find it anywhere.
