My current setup:
Q9550 @ 3.4 GHz (8.5 x 400 MHz FSB) -> 1.2V
DDR2 Ballistix RAM 4-4-4-12 timings -> 2.0V
FSB Termination -> 1.3V
NB Voltage -> 1.45V
I have the old P5B Deluxe with the Intel 965 chipset. I am using beta BIOS revision 1238 to be able to use my Q9550.
I'm only stable at 1.3V FSB termination, anything less than that and I lockup randomly in Windows. My other options are Auto, 1.2, 1.4, and 1.5.
I'm stable at NB voltage 1.45V, but am I keeping this voltage too high? I'm also stable at 1.25V, but my frame rate is lower by about 10%-25% in games such as GTA4 and L4D2. Why is this? When I go from 1.25V to 1.45V, my frame rates jump a noticeable amount and gaming feels smoother. 1.25V is the only other lower option I can run my NB voltage at. Temperatures are NOT an issue. The next higher setting is 1.55V.
Also, as a note, my system is unstable if I set vcore to 1.2, FSB term. voltage to auto, and NB voltage to auto.
