Long story short, there's a 42" 1080p Westinghouse sitting at my parent's about two hours away from me waiting to be picked up. Problem is, I only have a small truck (Dakota, really small cab) to pick it up with. I've heard transporting LCDs laying flat like in the bed of a truck can be extremely risky. Anyone have any knowledge on the subject or suggestions?

I would lay it in the back seat with the lcd facing up. That is if it fits. I love my 90' Toyota Camry DX because things that big fit so well in it.

Instead of laying it flat, stand it up. Is it in a box?

I'm not too sure about transporting large LCDs, but If I had a chance to go pick one up just a few hours away, I'd find a way. (even if it meant borrowing someone else's vehicle, or renting a u-haul if I must.)

Stand it up in the bed of the truck.

LCDs do not like to be layed down flat, but can be angled a bit if needed.

I have a truck and when transporting LCDs for our work I stand it up in the back and just throw a few straps over it :)

I probably should have mentioned I have a hard top cover on the bed, I could probably stand it up at the end and strap it down as tight as possible. It is still in the box.
