I'm considering doing a transparent case on my next build.

The Sunbeam AC9B-T seems like a decent option, but I'm going to have to fill what seem like 4 120mm and 1 80mm fan holes with fans or grills. I also wonder how much noise dampening a case like this provides.

I'm going to get 2 12" cathodes of some color.

Anyone have experience with a transparent case?
 
Wear rubber/latex gloves when assembling the case, otherwise you will be leaving fingerprints.
 
get ready to become a neat freak conserning dust because after the first week it will never look the same.
 
I had one for a few months, but gave it up for an Antec Super Lanboy because I could not keep the case clean enough. It depends on what fans you have in the case that determines how loud it is. My chipset fan is by far the loudest fan in my case.
 
that sunbeam case is the best out there for the price... I did a lot of searching a month ago for the best clear case I could shove 4x 3.5 drives into, 2x dvd roms, 4+ 120mm fans, my galaxy dxx psu, etc... that was the best option I could find.. and the price is right. the dander den cases were also nice, but pricey. Anyways.. I think you hit the nail on the head there.. and it's even on sale right now.. I am going to have to bite on that. my x58 build is going in this case. :)

you're right it does... and ive had both.... but danger dens are a LOT more money... shit they want something like 300 bux for one of those black series cases:eek:

i paid over 200 for my waterbox plus when they first came out and i would never pay more than that for another acrylic case lol.

the only problem is the sunbeam cases scratch easily and its a pain to get the side panel off, and yeh the dust is another thing, but for the price its not bad. sunbeam do a ripoff of the waterbox too which is smaller for like 80 bux, but you cant fit watercooling stuff in it.
 
yeah, I don't doubt the DD ones are nicer... but oh well... I bit on the SB one and will be building my rig in that.. should be an interesting project.. I haven't built a machine in a while... I'm gonna get my UV on again with this one.. sleeve all the wires and make it all purdy like. :)

I guess it is relative . . .my budgets for builds do not have me worried about spending a decent amount on a case just like I don't scrimp on a PSU . . .heck I have a couple Mountain Mod cases as well . . .

The Danger Den cases are a work of art compared to the Sumbeam cases . . .also thicker acrylic . . .you can get them customized with custom etching and panels, you also can get them fabbed in different colors . . .

The Sunbeam small case is actually an exact rip off of the Mountain Mods Boy Slay case to be accurate . . .

you can do a good job with it . . .don't get me wrong. If you already purchased it then just knock her dead!!! you can still use the same tricks for wire management and such . . .
