Transparency Cover for 17' LCD

I just bought a Dell 1704FPt monitor.

Many of my friends have bought LCD monitors and it came with a CLEAR transparency to protect their screen. Mine came with one.... with WHITE paint on it that shows the monitor and the name Dell.. I scratched all the paint off and am currently using the transparency but theres so many scratch marks and white dots that i missed. Can i buy this transparencies somewhere? I can only find 8.5 x 11..

i dont wanna spend a lot of money on hard lcd protectors.

its not even plastic, its not stuck onto the screen. its a clear strip of transparency paper that covers it which is taped onto the top of the screen.... think of it this way.. get a regular piece of white apaper and cover your monitor, now imagine its clear and thicker

its the same thing that they use on overhead projectors

That is just a protector for the screen while it is being shipped. You can remove it.

yes, you should remove it. Just protect the screen during shipping.

ok.. here what there not telling you... that transparency film provide no glare protection and it mostlikely screwing with your colors alittel... and its more than likely producing glare as it has no fliters applyed to it at all, now if it where coated, fit perfectly, and you didnt have to "scratch" the dell logo off it then i would say keep it..

I think I should start selling LCD transparency covers on ebay. $20 for a 20" LCD cover sound ok?

i only use the transparency when im surfing the web and when its off, when i game i life it up and over. my previous lcd was very dirty, im not a fan of cleaning.
