Transferring applications

Can I just save the program files for applications and move them to a new drive and they'll work fine, or do I have to get the .exe files and re-install everything one at a time?

most apps. install files into the registrey which makes it hard to just "drag and drop" there are programs that can transfer files from ur old PC to the new 1. I ued aloha bob once and it didnt work out to well. perhaps i set it up wrong, but i didnt like it. i just ended up re-installing everything fresh.
