I know that when your going from a HDD to a SSD you should reinstall a fresh windows. Do you have to do that same thing when transferring your OS to another SSD?

You don't need to reinstall in either case. Just clone it.

Use Windows 7 Backup and Restore. Create a system image. Then create a boot disc. Use it to load the system image on the new drive. That's it.

well people usually recommend doing a fresh install so that TRIM is enabled on the OS, but TRIM is enabled on the OS in a SSD.

Hi, Hanniblex,

Vista, Win7, and Win8 recognize the SSD and automatically enable TRIM and disable defrag etc. without having to do a reinstall.
