Transfering files between hard drives

I am trying to move files off of my main hard drive (WD2500JD) to my second hard drive (SAMSUNG SP2014N) and If I try to move a file that is over 5mb, my entire computer freezes. They are both NTFS format and I have no idea why I can't transfer my files. Thanks.
 
Update: I let my computer sit after it stoped and it gave me a "Delayed Write Failure Message"
 
Right click on your hard drives in my computer, then click properties. Go to the tools tab. Do the error checking and check both boxes for fixing errors and recovering bad sectors. After that completes, do a defrag. It might fix your problems. If thats not it, you could have driver conflicts with your IDE/SATA controller, or have an unrecoverable error on the hard drive. It could be other things causing it as well.. you never know. There are too many variables. Check out the microsoft help too.. it has fixed my problems in the past on a few occasions.
