This or TWO Transcend 512GB MLC SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" SSD 370 on Sale at Amazon: $110 and save $25?

Decent-performing drive with the SM2246EN controller. Anandtech's review of the 128, 256, and 512GB models is here. I'd imagine the 1TB model to be quicker than its siblings.

One thing to note about this specific drive is the 'S' in its model number (TS1TSSD370S) where the 'regular'(?) model has no S, but the same product ID.

Tom's Hardware says that 'S' denotes "Offspec" They also go on to say that the NAND flash used is not necessarily from the vendor you'd imagine it to be. This brings my memory back to the Kingston SSDNow and PNY XLR8 drives monkey business where both Kingston and PNY both subsisted in slower, second-tier NAND while telling people to look the other way.

All in all though, that's a hell of a price for a 1TB SSD and i would definitely consider one if i wasn't stacked with spinners for my cold storage stuff.
