Trackmania Nations Demo Released

100 new tracks? Full Game? Free?! Ownage...

I know it's decent, but how does it compare to the old TM games?

All I can say is...

HOLEE FRICK!

This game is incredible for the size and freeness! Sure, it ain't Burnout or PGR or GT or anything but this is simply fun. Tracks, tracks, tracks and free internet play with a bunch of folks from around da planet. The graphics are excellent, the controls tight and the interface sweet! I can't say enough! There is NO damage model so those looking for crashing goodness look elsewhere. What you get here is pure racing in a very simple yet challenging form. Just like the old TM games you need precision and perfection to beat the high scores and win against other players. (there's already some awesome players) I still can't get over that this is FREE! :D Happy am I!

Now... back to BF2...

This game is god, lol.

I remember the older versions of this, I loved it. Holy crap, as soon as this is done DL'ing, i'm going to waste my entire day in front of this computer!

what are the min spec ... wondering if it will run on my laptop 32 mg video card

2.8 p4

thanks

edit: runs great

According to the manual you should be able to run TM Nations on your laptop. At least DirectX 9.0b must be installed, though. DirectX 9.0c is the newest version.

Wow, this is sweet, they bring out a whole free add on to trackmania sunrise and now a totally free game? Sweet jesus, nadeo rocks.

Just one environment, especially designed for TM Nations.

Plus NADEO has also released two free add-ons for TrackMania Original

Downloading now.... is this the original TM for free? If so, awesome. I love TrackMania Sunrise but I never got around to getting the first one.

Thanks.
Downloaded and played it.
I'll probably get TM Sunrise now.
Saw it for $19.95 everywhere.
This is fun!

This is quite possibly the most fun i've had in a game in the last 6 months, bar BF2. It is superb

I couldn't agree more! BF2 rocks but this is such... pure fun! It's more gleeful and joyful as opposed to BF2's pwnage and winning. lol This stuff is awesome... :D

Anyone try playing this online yet? Someone should setup a server for [H] members to play against each other.

tried online, and it is confusing as hell - the other carse don't race contuinuously, it seems, they kind of hop about and you can go through them :(
The people that play it are really nice, though

It's pretty much time trials, no other option. Still challanging though and people make some pretty sick custom tracks.

MY eyes! Oh God my eyes! lol Someone managed to have a goat.se flag for their nation...

Otherwise its fun, keep an eye out for me I'm Reppu on there.

The custom tracks that have already been made are awesome! Online is great because it's time trials. There are no crash physics or bumping other cars so it's a bit different. Fun stuff! :D

I just realized that this game is perfect for getting others into PC gaming and possibly even gaming in general. My little brother and my sisters primarily play console games, but when I showed them TrackMania they all wanted to play. We started a 3 player LAN game and played for like 2 hours. :D

Anyone try using the track editor? It's fairly easy to use but I'm having trouble making loops and crazy things like that. I'm sure with a little practice I'll get the hang of it.

i have all TM game...

its one of those game that says... keep it simple ..stupid.

:D

They need to make the checkpoint system like it was in TM:Sunrise, where you had the option to go back to the last checkpoint (with the clock still ticking) rather than restarting the whole trial. Some of these online tracks are so hard that the person who simply finishes will often be the winner.

Agreed. It's annoying to start all the way back at the beginning when you just need to clear that one, nasty jump later in the track.

Ive been playing trackmania ever since the beta near the end of 2003 i think, awesome little game thats simple and easy to play for a blast anytime. This new version is great as well, though taxing on my computer :(

as the online was slow at the weekend me and a bunch of mates were playing this on virtual lan, hopefully the online should be better this week

I noticed a bunch more servers after just one day of playing it online. I'm thinking there will be even more in the coming days.

I think a lot of developers could learn a thing or two from Nadeo. This game is simple to learn and incredibly challenging to master. It helps that it looks prrdy, too. :D
