Touchy Mobo?!

I just installed a Chaintech 7NIF2 into a smaller micro-atx case (powmax). Everything is peachy except as soon as i touch the motherboard, the system powers off. I am using a pretty big heatsink (Coolermaster Aero 7) but other than that I have no idea what's goin on. When i go to plug in a USB cable or ethernet cable it just flips off....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

what happens if you plug them in when it's off? will it boot up or not?

maybe you're stressing the PSU  ...but i need more info...

No, i guess I wasnt clear, it happens whenever I touch the motherboard, if i press it on the side with my finger it clicks off. I thought i read something about the motherboard having to be grounded or something....?

OH i get it...

when you push down on the mobo you are probally shorting it out, which will cut power to the mobo.

to fix this make sure you have the proper number of spacers/in the right spots and it shouldn't happen.

so i need to fill all those holes with the little gold guys..? thats what i get for bein lazy..:D

not ALL of them...just the ones that line up with the holes in your mobo.

you don't need to put screws in all of them...although i would reccomend it...

Or you can put a thin towel in between your motherboard and the tray, and make holes for the screws you DO intend to use :).

I use towels or peices of styrofoam when I'm using cases that are bent so that motherboards tend to short on them. Works pretty good.

Thats exactly what I was thinking... but I guess somehow having grounded or negative connections passed through it prevent that or something.
