Touching Cloth - mousepad comparison

Just a thankyou IanM for a really interesting and helpful post. Only just come across it. I've done one myself for my clan on both gaming mice and gaming mats.

Your one is much more detailed and precise. At the moment trying to find the perfect gaming mat for the MMO7 and as such doing alot of testing.

Anyway, thanks. It was nice to know I'm not the only extreme gaming mice/mat enthusiast out there.

I am in search of a cloth mousepad that needs to replace my Steeseries S&S. Unfortunately S&S is an awesome mousepad but has a big flaw. IT wears off pretty quickly, and after 1-1,5 years of usage it will become pretty uncomfortable as the gliding speed will differ based on the place where the mouse feet touch. However, the qualities if this mousepad are awesome, and I try to find a cloth replacement that has those qualities:

- will remain exactly as on day 1 after 2-3 years. - I understood that only cloth pads can do that
- will not have variable glide resistance based on how hard I lay my hand on the mouse. Having a constant glide is pretty important.
- will be hard enough surface to not allow the mouse to "drill" its way on the mousepad surface. Any sort of "drilling" will result in having additional resistance to motion based on how hard I lay my hand on the mouse. Yes, I do like to rest my palm on the top of the mouse, so that the fingers are not stressed of pressing the mouse, as the weight of the palm is allowing my fingers to stick directly on the buttons, without pressing them by accident.

It is hard to find anything like this, and the tries I did so far are those:
- Steelseries 5L - Hard enough surface to prevent "drilling" but not fast enough.
- Steelseries QCK - I see this one as the best compromise between "thin and hard enough to prevent drilling" and "pretty speedy", however, is not fast enough compared to my S&S.

Anyone can help me with this? I would very much appreciate it.
 
For a start, anyone can name any cloth mousepad that has less friction and is less spongy than Steelseries QCK? I understood that QPad CT would be like that, however I am not sure, I need confirmation.

glide/friction: lowest friction of the cloth pads in the side by side comparison, effectively the 'fastest' cloth pad here (Alioth might be faster or similar) Using the TactX is muchbetter on this pad than the standard cloth.

glide/friction: a definte step away from the coated cloth. CT is faster/lower friction than any of the other pads

I am sorry but I find those 2 statements contradictory, in other words I am searching for the fastest of those 2. So which one is it?
